While writing my last post, I got an idea for my next Toastmasters speech; which is good since it’s in 10 days…
I am going to speak about my favorite filler word, which I also use when I write: so.
One of our last meetings, the grammarian suggested that we use something else when we really mean “so” like “therefore” or “next” or even a longer phrase. That way it won’t sound like we used a filler word when we really used “so” in context; it’s just too overuse so therefore we should try to never use it.
I will have to come up with a really clever closing statement that uses “so” a lot but substitute different words for “so.”
I better start brainstorming.
